From e30a52232cbb6f883056aec06abf00cd917c83e8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Alex Deucher Date: Mon, 17 Apr 2017 17:51:00 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] drm/amdgpu/gfx9: Switch baremetal to use KIQ for compute ring management. (v4) KIQ is the Kernel Interface Queue for managing the MEC. Rather than setting up rings via direct MMIO of ring registers, the rings are configured via special packets sent to the KIQ. The allows the MEC to better manage shared resources and certain power events.
