Since powerpc uses -Werror on arch powerpc, the build was broken like
this:

  cc1: warnings being treated as errors
  arch/powerpc/kernel/module.c: In function 'module_finalize':
  arch/powerpc/kernel/module.c:66: error: unused variable 'err'
